This very ornate two handled bowl made in Japan for the American market in the early 20th Century is as versatile as it is beautiful. From handle to handle it measures approximately 9 1/2" across making it ideal for serving a side dish of vegetables, rolls or even use as a home accent piece.
The soft white porcelain is decorated with a band of cream around the top and just above the flat area at the bottom. Heavy gold covers the handles and the hand painted florals and wreaths that are outlined in black around the edges.
There is little loss of gold and the overall piece is in great condition. The makers mark dates this lovely bowl between 1911-1921.
