As the pattern name suggests, this set of two Countryside blue transferware bowls features an idyllic scene of a small cottage alongside a bubbling stream complete with a stone bridge, waterfall and mountains in the background. Wow! Wish you were there!
Created by one of the great British ceramic houses, Wedgwood, in the 1960s these two bowls are marked "Wedgwood & Co Ltd. Founded by Enoch Wedgwood 1835" with the unicorn symbol (see image for full backstop details").
A standard "cereal bowl" size for the American market they could certainly be used for a small serving bowl for various side dishes. They are approximately 6 1/2" across and in great vintage shape. Perfect for anyone collecting the Countryside pattern or vintage blue and white tableware.
