For fans of historical nautical tableware this set of "Fair Winds" is in one of my favorite- brown transferware! Produced from the original copper plates from one the best, Alfred Meakin of Staffordshire, England, the pair includes one dinner plate and one salad/dessert plate.
The dinner plate is the traditional 10 1/2" size and features the ship "Friendship of Salem" in the New York Harbor - Canton Port circa 1830. The salad/dessert plate is 7" and is more of an up close view of the men aboard. Both have detailed rims with the American Eagle standing out among the ornate design.
Both are in great shape and just lovely for use or fun decor.
